Overview

Oozing old-fashioned elegance and the charm of a bygone era, Betty’s Boutique Hotel is a little slice of England in Mossel Bay. Built out of limestone in 1903, the hotel has been lovingly furnished with the owner’s personal antiques and treasures, helping to create a warm and inviting space. There are six spacious and individually decorated rooms, some with their own private entrances and even one with its own private patio. The large lounge with its pink and blue hues and soft lighting brings a sense of calm, while the comfortable armchairs and couches seem to beckon to you. There is a TV and board games to provide some entertainment, as well as a pool table in one of the historical rooms. It’s here where you’ll also find a fridge and honesty bar. It’s the large stoep (veranda) that tends to be the most popular area in the hotel, welcoming you to enjoy a full English breakfast each morning while taking in the gorgeous Indian Ocean and Outeniqua Mountain views. The couch is also the perfect place to curl up with a good book or enjoy a glass of wine. Afternoon tea is also served here. The pool and braai area are ideal for relaxation. There are several loungers for sunbathing and unwinding, while the pool provides the best way to cool off during the summer months. The lush garden is bursting with indigenous plants, trees and flowers and it’s a great place to enjoy an afternoon walk. There is a quiet bench at the bottom of the garden that offers the ultimate tranquillity, and a lapa for enjoying a sundowner.

The Royal SuiteBed and Breakfast

Decorated in reds and golds this our largest room certainly has a romantic feel, the period features and antiques give the room a luxurious royal feel, while the large windows add a slight airiness and gives you sea and mountain views. Sit back and relax with a cup of tea or coffee and feel spoilt in this truly fabulous room. The vintage washstand in the bathroom will take you back in time whilst the modern shower delivers an up to date moment! This room features a wonderful King Size bed which can be configured as 2 singles.

We’ve decided to inject a touch of 1920’s glamour into this bedroom with the use of vintage gold wall lights with pink droplets, feather boas, walnut dressing table and glamorous bedding! Add a fabulous bathroom with a shower and a roll top slipper bath add black and white tiling and you will feel like you’ve gone back in time! Welcome to the roaring twenties.

The Garden RoomBed and Breakfast

The Garden Room - This room is definitely for the gardener or nature lover. The natural grain wood feature wall and vintage floral decor give this room a fresh “green” feel. Separate from the main building, although one of our smaller rooms, this room allows the guest to relax away from the world and take a break. Sit outside your room on your own patio away from other guests with a cup of tea or glass of bubbles and take in the wonderful surrounding gardens, the main inspiration for the room decor! The room features a comfortable queen size bed and has its own spacious ensuite shower room.

The Rose Room - Soft, floral, and romantic, what more could you want in a room? Take in the English rose decor, sporting blush pinks and antique greens, this room definitely has the vintage feel! Sit back, relax, and read a book or get ready at the antique dressing table. Roses also being a feature in his and hers bathroom suite, with spacious shower cubicle you're bound to wake up feeling as fresh as a daisy.... uh, rose! With roses being the main feature, could this room be any more romantic? This one of our larger rooms with antique wooden floor with Persian carpet features an amazing This room features a wonderful King Size bed which can be configured as 2 singles. - We can add a baby cot for free or a child bed up to the age of 12 yrs - Price on request.

The Spa Bedroom - Needing a break? Wanting to relax? Take a look at the spa room, The soft queen size bed is heaven on the back! While the stone feature wall, adds a natural earthy feel, fresh interiors allow you to relax the mind. Take a long soak in the double bath allowing the stresses of the day fade away, you're almost guaranteed to have a good night's sleep! This room also has a separate shower room beautifully tiled with gold and bronze floor and a separate room for the toilet.
